Bench Cushion Measuring Guide

Are you considering replacing your worn-out cushions or want to add a pop of color to your garden or indoor space? We can custom-make your bench cushions to your exact measurements. Follow these simple steps to determine the cushion size you need.

Important Note: When ordering new cushions, please do not refer to your existing or old cushions. Cushions can become misshapen over time, and fabrics stretch. Using these measurements may result in cushions that do not fit properly. So, be sure to measure the space where the cushion will be used.

Tips for Accurate Measurements:

  • To get the most accurate measurement, use a sturdy tape measure.
  • When placing your order, round the measurements to the nearest ¼ inch.

How to Measure Your Bench:

  • Measure the Width of the Bench Seat
  • Measure the Depth of the Bench Seat
  • Thickness

Determine the thickness of the cushion you need. Bench cushions typically range from 2 to 8 inches in thickness, in 1-inch increments, depending on the cushion or pad you choose. (The most common choice is 3 inches, while 4 inches may be used for mattresses. Our foam provides excellent support.)

For Bench Back Cushions:

If you are also ordering back cushions, be sure to subtract the thickness of the bench seat cushion from the total height of the furniture back. This ensures that the back cushion fits properly without being too high when installed.

Is Your Bench Shape Irregular?

If your bench seat isn’t a standard rectangular or square shape, you will need to create and send us a template (pattern) of the shape. Instructions for how to do this can be found on our "Contact us" page.
