Use this guide to measure for ottomans, footstools, or rectangular footrests. Most styles require just three dimensions: Width, Depth, and Thickness.

Step 2: Width Step 3: Depth

Step 1: Ottoman Cushion Thickness

Select your cushion thickness first. Our ottoman cushions range from 2 to 5 inches.

(Tip: 3-4 inches is standard for a comfortable footrest.)

Step 2: Ottoman Cushion Width

Measure the width from side to side.

⚠️ Important: Measure the actual area of the ottoman/furniture frame you want covered, not your old cushion.

Step 3: Ottoman Cushion Depth

Measure the depth from front to back.

Select Your Corner Shape

Ottoman frames vary. Check your corners and select the matching option:

Squared Corners

90-degree angle on all 4 corners.

Rounded Corners

Standard 6-inch radius on all 4 corners.

Expert Measuring Tips

 The Book Method

Unsure about thickness? Stack books on your ottoman until it feels right. Measure the stack to find your ideal cushion height.

 Use Rigid Tools

For accuracy, use a steel tape measure or yardstick. Avoid flexible tailor's tape which can stretch.

 Rounding Rules

We adjust width/depth to the ½ inch. Round your measurements up or down to the nearest half inch.

 No Old Cushions

Old foam flattens and fabric stretches. Always measure the furniture frame for a custom fit.
