How to Measure for a Seat Cushion
Whether it's for a dining chair, patio furniture, or a bench, follow these 3 simple steps to get the perfect fit for your standard rectangular or square cushion.
Select cushion thickness
We recommend selecting your cushion thickness first. Our seat cushions range in thickness from 2 to 6 inches, depending on the style and construction selected.
Measure seat width
Measure from side to side across the seat area, as shown in the diagram above.
Measure the actual area of your furniture you want covered. Do not measure an old seat cushion — foam spreads and fabric stretches over time, giving you an inaccurate reading.
Measure seat depth
Measure from front to back across the seat area.
Make sure you're measuring deep enough to be comfortable, but not so deep that the cushion overhangs the furniture frame unintentionally.
