Measuring for a fitted tablecloth is simple. We just need the dimensions of your table top (Width & Length) and your desired Skirt Height (also known as the "Drop").
Step 1: Table Width
Measure the short side of the table top.
Measure the table surface only. Round UP to the nearest 1 inch.
Step 2: Table Length
Measure the long side of the table top.
Measure the table surface only. Round UP to the nearest 1 inch.
Step 3: Skirt Height (Drop)
Measure how far down you want the fabric to hang from the edge of the table. This is called the "Drop".
- Casual / Dining: 8" to 12" drop (Lap length).
- Formal / Buffet: 29" to 30" drop (Floor length).
- Custom: Measure from the table edge down to your desired point.
Expert Measuring Tips
Always round your Width and Length UP to the nearest inch. It's better to have slightly more fabric than too little.
Use a metal tape measure. Cloth tapes can stretch or twist, leading to uneven hem lines.
For dining, a 10-12" drop sits nicely on your lap without bunching up on the chair seat.
Note: We use your table dimensions + skirt height to calculate the final fabric size automatically.
