From Sofa Width to Cushion Size

Rule of thumb: each seat cushion width ≈ (total sofa width − both arms) ÷ number of seat cushions. Arms are usually 5–8″ each. Seat depth (front to back of the cushion) is far more consistent, usually 21–24″. Most couch seat cushions are 5–6″ thick.
